Drum Etiquette & Signals

Drums marked with flourescent green (fabric or tape) or "R.A." tags are free to be played by anyone. Percussion instruments on the center and drums on left side of the stage are porovided for general use. Always use a carpet pad beneath your drum to protect the floor. Please make sure you know whos drum you are playing and that it is ok with the owner!!! Please do not leave drums at chairs when you are not actively using them.

Please watch and listen for signals so we can all play together -

  • A pointed finger indicates a request for shift in tempo up or down
  • Flat hand indicates a request for change in volume
(palm down= quieter palm up= louder)
  • circular hang motion indicates a request to keep going
  • please listen for breaks that communicate starting, stopping and tempo information
